LOOT a documentary on HBO

Cinematography – Anson Call

Loot took almost four years to film with over 600 hours of tape on three different cameras.  Filming took place all over the world, in cities towns, jungles and oceans, I wanted to get all I could out of the digital format we used and in the end I am very proud of the final cut.

Despite the complications of fading memories and failing health, an amateur treasure hunter from Utah helps two WWII veterans search for the treasures they buried more than 60 years ago in this quietly devastating documentary.
“Engrossing, exasperating, exquisitely shot documentary…”

-New York Times
“A powerful evocation of fathers, sons, war and time, that sneaks up on you like a thief in the night.”

-Sam Shepard
